WTF is going on with River Island at the moment? It is certainly going down in my estimation.. Alot of the new arrivals are just a bit too 'out there' or look outdated. 
Plus some of it just looks very cheap yet the price tag says otherwise.  


I realise this is the second post in the past week to highlight the bad items currently on sale in River Island, but i felt it needed highlighting again.

Case in point : 


Blue Scarf Print Trousers £30 : 
  Ok, River Island, we know you LOVE 'scarf prints' on clothes. But this is taking it one step too far. I honestly cannot see ANYONE looking good in these trousers - i will admit that i am wrong if i see anyone on the highstreet looking good sporting these, but i am doubtful. 
 I must admit though.. perhaps if these had been in a maxi skirt form, maybe, just maybe i would have been more swayed by them.
It does seem though that printed trousers are going to be BIG this Spring / Summer.

Light brown print peep toe ankle boots - £60 reduced from £100 - SERIOUSLY?!

I am not even going to comment on these.. i think the picture says it all.

Blue Denim Patchwork Dress £30
There are no words, except perhaps "do you honestly want to look like a member of B*witched"? 

 Black Aztec Print Fringe Maxi Dress £32 
OK. This i would wear, was it not for the ridiculous fringing that had been added to the neckline. It's almost as if someone has looked at the dress and said "No. Too safe, too boring, needs fringing". It doesn't need fringing. End of.

Song Of The Day

I love this song, it's The Pretty Reckless's new single ' You' - i've been listening to their album since last year & would highly recommend it!
It's hard to imagine the lead singer Taylor Momsen as little Jenny Humphries (in Gossip Girl) after seeing her these days with her great big panda eyes.

Gossip Girl

The 100th episode of Gossip Girl saw Blair Waldorf walk down the aisle to marry her prince (wrong choice if you ask me, as i am Team Chuck the whole way!). 
 The dresses were BEAUTIFUL - wouldn't expect anything less really! 

Vera Wang is the QUEEN when it comes to bridal fashion, so it was only fitting that she designed the dresses for the episode & even had a cameo in the show! And of course Miss Meester is the face of her fragrance... 

Blair Waldorfs custom made Vera Wang dress was just stunning, definitely fit for a princess! 

The bridesmaids dresses are available to buy for a reasonable price of $198. 


Serena van der Woodsens dress was of course much more pricey, with a hefty price tag of $5,500 from Wangs Spring / Summer 2011 collection.  This was my favourite gown of the episode! <3


Gossip Girl is most definitely the most fashionable show on our telly's!

REVAMP!

Soo.. i decided it was about time i revamped this blog a little bit, mainly because i was getting a tad bored of the previous layout / background etc..

I have also decided that since this blog has kind of trailed away from what it used to be "outfit of the day" since i haven't had the time to take pictures & i've not even been looking fractionally fabulous that i will start writing more general blog posts - reviews / thoughts etc. Of course when i am starting to look 'mildly fabulous' as a yummy mummy then i shall post some more outfit pictures!
It'll still be mainly fashion orientated though i imagine!

Although having said that, i have found my desire to buy new clothes has been replaced by the desire to buy adorable baby clothes for little Theodore - who at little over 2 weeks old is already starting to outgrow some of his clothes!

Anyways new exciting posts coming soon... possibly more 'vaguely interesting' than exciting mind you.

WTF Fashion

WTF is going on with some of the "just arrived" fashion on the high street. 
Spring/summer 2012 is not looking pleasing to the eye overall i have to say. 

For example some DELIGHTS (note sarcasm) from River Island include : 

 






This jacket which is £40. The style & the pattern are just not doing it for me. 
I wouldn't even part with £1 for this. 
However if you like the look of this, they also have a matching skirt... 

 

Have you ever been going out on a Saturday night & thought "i really NEED a metallic vest?".. well river island have answered those prayers. 
this BEAUTY could be yours for a mere £70.

 I really like this dress. Although the shape of the sleeves aren't great.

So i realise i haven't updated this blog in over a month now. BUT i have been busy having babies - well 1 baby! But still it's a time consuming thing. 

Introducing Theodore Kasper 

 BORN - 2-2-2012 @ 7.53PM 
WEIGHT - 8lb 12oz

Obviously he is a very stylish little man already! 

SO... What does it take to be a YUMMY MUMMY?!

According to Urban Dictionary (the gospel of words) the definition of a Yummy Mummy is - 

"Glamorous girls who shop and lunch their way through pregnancy, proudly displaying their little bumps like the latest designer handbag. They generally see pregnancy as an opportunity to buy a whole new wardrobe with a team of personal shoppers on hand. Yummy mummies disguise bleary eyes with Gucci sunglasses and recommend pregnancy to female friends as a fabulous way to detox. Of course, they are sensible, and understand motherhood means making sacrifices, like and reducing the 90mm heel on their Prada shoes to sensible 65mm. "

   ^THIS not particularly true pour moi. For starters, i can't afford Prada shoes nor the latest designer bag, i don't have personal shoppers & i'm not sure morning sickness classes as detox.
EPIC FAIL. But this is clearly the yummy mummy to be. So i have only half failed...

Just come across this article from the Daily Mail website regarding Celebrity Yummy Mummies - Celebrity yummy mummies make the rest of us feel like failures 

(What we need to remember is that all of these celebs all of nannies looking after their children.. or so i presume).

So my mission now is to be MILDLY FABULOUS. (or aim high and be totally)!

La Redoute Blunder.

Ok yet another Daily Mail article - ( I have to get my pointless news updates from somewhere.)

La Redoute Advert Blunder

Spot the naked man in the childrens advert below? Yeah, pretty hard to miss.. seem's kind of crazy that no-one at French fashion chain La Redoute noticed this man before the advert was posted.

Oh and as if that wasn't all, web users also spotted that one of the childrens t-shirts in the picture had ' holidays ' mispelled as HOLYDAYS.
Not a good day at all for La Redoute. Epic fails all round.

Oh Dakota.

After the whole Oh Lola! advert banning incident, you would think that would be it for controversy for a while for the 17 year old Dakota Fanning. That is where you would be wrong. 
I have just stumbled across this article (yes, i know it's the Daily Mail..)  :

Dakota's Cosmo controversy

Basically to summarise the article, people are OUTRAGED that Dakota Fanning has appeared on the front cover of Cosmopolitan - not only that, but the fact that she is wearing a low cut dress, as well as being placed in amongst "sex" headlines. 

My personal opinion on the matter is that it has been blown out of all proportion - for starters the girl is 17 years old. Secondly i don't see a problem with the outfit she is wearing, there are girls younger than her wearing much more provocative outfits.
As for the headlines on the magazine, it's Cosmopolitan! It's clear that none of these are in relation to Dakota Fanning, she herself is not giving out sex tips..

In fact the only thing that i see wrong with this front cover is the fact that they have photoshopped Dakota's face. They may not have done.. but it does look like it. Which in my opinion is a much worse crime..


At the end of the day she is 17 years old.. that is old enough to legally actually have sex, nevermind just being on the front of a magazine which tells you how to give your man "the best sex ever". So why all the outrage?!

Today

I realised that I have been lacking in outfit picture posts, so to resolve this I have taken a picture of today's outfit.
Today I have mainly been wearing my River Island snood (which I have decided was the best winter buy ever & I actually couldn't live without it now as it keeps my neck super warm), Primark Parka & feathered boots, Metallica Tshirt & River Island grey cardigan with tiger print on.

Oh & my ring of the day is a FANG ring! (that is a ring shaped into fangs obviously.) - from Topshop (of course)
