Ooh Controversial!

Last night saw one of the biggest nights in the British music industry - the 2012 Brit Awards.
It was disappointing to say the least. Gone are the days of drunken behaviour from rowdy bands.

HOWEVER. There was some controversy as this years host James Corden was given the instructions to cut Adele's acceptance speech when she won THE award of the evening Best Album Of The Year. Just as she was saying how grateful she was to have been flying the flag for Britain in the US at the Grammys where she won 6 awards.
She then proceeded to stick her middle finger up to "the suits of the Brits" (as she explained in an interview after). And i have to say i don't blame her!!
I find it somewhat hilarious that she wins 6 Grammys in the US yet here in the UK she wins 2 Brit awards and she's not even allowed to finish her speech!

Would it really have been THAT much of a big deal to let the show over run by 5-10 minutes?!

I blame Blur, who won the Outstanding Contribution award - Damon Albarn proceeded to whip out a piece of paper to read out a long list of thankyou's earlier in the evening - Why did no-one cut him off? Because lets face it, he was RAMBLING & it's not Blur are really even relevant anymore. Where as Adele is one of the biggest singers in the world right now!
Anyways enough of Adele.. although i will just say, she looked STUNNING & her performance was of course brilliant, but who would expect any less from the songstress?

I was disappointed that Jessie J left empty handed despite being nominated for 3 awards.
Also thought Example should have been nominated for Best Male Solo Artist - after all, i'm sure he has sold more records than James Blake.. (although he was nominated for British Single)

On that note I'm not quite sure what was going on with some of the nominee's - for example - KATE BUSH was nominated for British Female Solo Artist. It's not the 80's!!
Also BJORK was nominated for Best International Female Solo Artist... Why on earth was Katy Perry not nominated?!

I was however happy to see that Lady Antebellum were nominated in the International Group category - of course they didn't win, but nice to see they were at least nominated.

The best dressed of the night in my opinion was JESSIE J who stepped away from her usual catsuits for one evening :
