Mummy's day!

So on Sunday, it was my first ever Mothers Day as a mummy!
Theo has very good taste in mugs and i received a beautiful Emma Bridgewater mug - as you can see above! Also a very cute card with an imprint of his foot in it.

Had a lovely day, including Sunday dinner!

xoxo

What i wore..

Earrings - Topshop / Scarf - Primark / Ring - River Island / Top & Jeans - New Look / Cardigan - Next

I discovered this scarf in amongst my wardrobe & it still had the tag on it, despite the fact i've probably had it for around a year, so i thought i best wear it!
I'm really loving big oversized scarfs at the moment! Primark is brilliant for these - especially since they only cost a few quid from there!
I actually really like this one with the zebras printed on it, it's something a bit different!

Song Of The Day

Engelbert Humperdinck - Love Will Set You Free

i LOVE eurovision! ^ this being the UK's entry this year.
I have to admit, i feel like i should take back all the things i said when i first found out he was going to be singing our entry, i thought it would be a complete failure & just laughable..
BUT now that i have actually heard the song, i have to say i actually really like it!!
Whether it is good enough for us to win, or even come in the top 5 is another question.. but i think we might have a fairly decent chance this year. Although having said that Blue couldn't do it last year & i truly thought they could win it for us!
This year i either want him or Jedward to win! ha!

I truly love Eurovision though, i host an annual eurovision party - complete with printed out score sheets! (which are available each year from the BBC website, usually along with an 'eye spy' game!

Roll on May! Humperdinck FTW!!

Finally..

Katy Perry is back looking stylish after a few fashion fails in Paris the other week...

Still loving the blue cropped hair and can't wait to see her new army inspired music video for Part Of Me.

Gaga Blackout

Lady Gaga has stated that she intends to have a 'media blackout' and insists that she won't be talking to any press for the coming months.
As much as i hate to say it, i think this is the right move for her to take. I think she needs to effectively go away then come back bigger & better than ever - hopefully that's how it'll work anyway!

She's been in the limelight for the past few years pretty much non stop with her outrageous outfits etc so it would do her good to dip out of the spotlight for a while.
Plus i think taking a break when your a superstar like her must do wonders & stop you from having a complete fame meltdown! (... ala Britney!).

I can't wait to see Lady Gaga's return to the spotlight though! Hopefully it won't be too long before she's back in the media.

I think stars like Rihanna could do with taking a break like this.

Transitional key items!

1. Blowfish ankle boots - Office -  £65  2. 3. Lightwash denim jacket - River Island - £48 4. Texture jersey snood - Miss Selfridge - £14 5. ?  6. ?  7. Nana boot - Office - £14 (Sale) 8. Contrast blazer - Topshop - £65 9. ? 10. Creamlace belted skater dress - River Island £35

(I created the image above a few weeks ago but never got round to posting it.. and in this time i have since forgotten where a few of the items have come from.. whoops so therefor they have little ? 's next to the numbers!)

All the above items are what i consider to be "key" items in the wardrobe which are perfect for the inbetween season months where it's not quite warm enough to be in skimpy summer clothes but not quite cold enough to be wrapped up in 100s of layers!

These are all things which i myself have in my wardrobe and couldn't be without infact!

1 & 7 - Ankle Boots - Leather ones are the best since they will be waterproof (for those April showers!). I pretty much live in boots from September - May! Primark is my shop of choice for footwear these days!

2 - Hat - I love hats. Hats of all shapes & sizes! I do love this hat pictured & actually own a very similar one from Primark, although if i'm 100% honest i've not worn this one yet..

3 & 6    - Denim - I have in my wardrobe 2 x denim shirts (one light, one dark), 1 x denim jacket & 1 x shearling denim jacket. Denim jackets are absolutely perfect for wearing with summer dresses & also i'm someone who is rather fond of the 'double denim' look so don't mind pairing them with a pair of jeans either.

4 - Snood - These are brilliant for those chilly spring days! Keeps your neck nice & toasty! I love this grey one & it's a nice neutral colour, also the jersey material will be nice & soft unlike some of the scratchy wool ones you can buy.

5 - Chunky cardigan -  Well infact any kind of cardigan, but chunky ones are best i think! I love oversized chunky ones as they can replace a jacket or coat (if its not too cold)! Cable knit ones are a particular favourite of mine, especially in a kind of oatmeal colour. They're perfect for dressed down days teamed with jeans & a tee, or worn over summer dresses.

8 - Blazer - I love blazers. It's only in the past few years that i have come to love them though, but now i couldn't live without one in my wardrobe! I have one in blue / black/ grey & i think a pink one somewhere too! They're so versatile so they really are worth buying in my opinion as you can dress them up or down! I like to wear mine to smarten up a pair of jeans with a logo tee underneath, or  i wear with a dress.

9 & 10 - Dresses - But not just any kind of dress..  I'm talking about the kind of dresses that are suitable for all seasons. The 2 in the picture are perfect as they could be worn as they are or teamed with black tights & a long sleeved top underneath & boots for those colder days.  Whenever i am considering buying a new dress i do tend to think about whether it will be suitable for all year round.

What key items see you through the seasons?!

xoxo

Today

^ This is what i have been wearing today.

Top / jeans - New Look (from years ago..)
Denim shearling jacket / bag / feathered boots - Primark
Skull ring / snake earrings - Topshop

I LOVE this jacket, i've actually not worn it for ages, i think i temporarily forgot i owned it since i've mainly been in my leather aviator jacket & my parka over the past few months.
But it's perfect for those chilly spring days!
I also absolutely adore these boots! They were only £17 (as far as i can remember) and they're very comfortable, plus i think they look a bit more expensive than that. My mum told me i had "chicken feet" today though!

Jewellery wise... can't go wrong with a knuckle duster skull! The earrings i hadn't worn till today.. i discovered i had quite a few bits of jewellery from Topshop that i hadn't worn....

^ Yes clearly i had gone a tad mad in the Topshop sale at some point then forgotten all about this stash! So gonna have to start making my way through this little lot!
I know i've said this before but i am addicted to Topshop jewellery, just cannot resist their sales, especially when pieces go down to £1.50! Absolute bargains!

Always the bridesmaid...

This summer for the second year running i shall be a bridesmaid for one of my best friends. This past weekend me, the bride & the other bridesmaid went dress shopping (one of my favourite past times!).
This is our favourite so far (and yes i did snap the picture in a changing room and what?!) :

£27.99 New Look

I really like this dress, its pretty yet quite simplistic.
The bride is hoping to get a dress in a dark cherry / blackberry colour so we need something thats not going to clash, so i think this should work. Also the pricetag is perfect!

But we're going to keep having a little bit of a search just to see if there is anything else out there that would do the trick. Ax Paris seem to have a few good dresses that would look nice too.

xoxo

This week...

This week i have mostly been wearing...

1. This is what i wore today, what i like to consider fairly 'smart casual' attire.
Black jeans - New Look
Striped top - H&M maternity (i'm pretty sure it's still acceptable for me to get my moneys worth out of maternity wear by still wearing them!
Scorpion Necklace - Topshop in the sale for £1.50 BARGAIN!
Blazer - H&M
Bag - Primark (where else?!)

2. I've really been loving my H&M black blazer recently, i think mainly because the weathers been a bit warmer yet not enough to go coatless so a blazer is perfect for that kind of inbetween weather. I honestly believe every wardrobe should have at least one blazer - black obviously being the most versatile colour to get.
Scarf - Primark (How they don't get caught out for copyright infringement for these scarves is beyond me, but i am not complaining!!) - i LOVE the bright contrasting colours of this scarf, meaning its the perfect way to jazz up a plain jeans & tshirt combo, smartened up with my H&M blazer.
Sunglasses - can't remember where these are from, but probably Primark!

3. Dress - Primark (last summer £10). I do love a good Primark dress bargain like this one, it made perfect work attire since it was something i could just throw on & look vaguely put together! I also really like that it can be worn with black tights / leggings when its a bit colder & a top underneath like seen here. Also looks nice with pumps or boots which is always good! I always like to pick dresses that can be worn whatever the season.

4.  Can't really go wrong with a basic look like this, i got this scarf the other day for a bargain £2!! I LOVE it, it reminds me a bit of the Louis Vuitton stoles - although totally the wrong colours. Its perfect for dressing up a basic outfit like this. My only slight problem was that the scarf started to colour my white tee slightly pink...
Black Jeans & white tee - New Look
Scarf - Primark

5. This little coral coloured bag is from Primark, i actually bought it as i thought it would come in very handy for when i'm out & about with the pram, as at the moment i've been stuffing my handbag in the compartment underneath the pram but that means i have to keep bending down to get my purse out so i thought this would be much better. This bag also has 2 zipped compartments inside which is really handy to keep my bits & pieces seperate, it's a very good size too - well by that i mean i can fit my keys / phone / purse / sunglasses / lipgloss in it, which is all i really need when popping out.

6.  My lovely leopard print Primark bargain! My scarf collection is pretty hefty these days!

Star style for less

Ever wanted a designer dress but can't afford the price tag?
Well River Island has answered your prayers.. IF your dream designer dress was one of these Stella Mccartney little black dresses - (which FYI i LOVE)

The River Island version is available on their website now for only £35 -

Okay.. so it's not as nice as the designer version, but it is only a fraction of the cost!

Hot Mess.

Oh Rihanna! What on earth were you thinking wearing this?!
While dining out with friends in the big apple this is what the singer decided was appropriate attire.. oh dear!

Snood love!

River Island £10

I love this snood. In fact i pretty much love any snood for that matter. This would look perfect with logo tshirts & jeans for a dress downed 'spring' look!

Song Of The Day

Arctic Monkeys - R U Mine?

Absolutely ADDICTED to listening to this song, love it.  I was a massive Arctic Monkeys song - especially their first album, but not so much the very recent stuff up until this release.
Although annoyingly i seem to have misplaced their first album.. very frustrating! Cd case but missing the actual Cd - GUTTED.

Shame on you....

Yes shame on you Mr Marc Jacobs.
I was shocked reading this article : Marc Jacobs hits back at claims he doesn't pay models

Fashion designer Marc Jacobs has hit back at claims that he doesn't pay models by tweeting "If they don't want to work with us, they don't have to" - which i honestly think is beside the point.
Considering that it has been reported that fashion houses actually pay celebrities to sit up front at fashion week shows - Marc Jacobs included, i think this is ridiculous.

Also bearing in mind just how much money this particular designer is worth himself & how much his handbags etc retail for i honestly don't see why he can't afford to pay these young girls for modelling for him!
These young models aren't exactly going to turn down modelling for a major designer at a fashion week & risk any future career from doing so, and i think he is exploiting this fact.
He expects these young girls to strut down the catwalk for no money whatsoever yet i doubt he would ever work for free!

Although having said all of the above, these young models are usually paid in 'trade' - meaning that they will receive free accessories & clothing, which i presume they could then sell on and gain money that way... but i'm not sure if that makes it any more reasonable really.

Surely bringing in some kind of employment law to protect these girls from this kind of situation where they are made to work without receiving money would be the way forward.

What do you think - is Marc Jacobs right or should he cough up the cash to pay wages?

Miracle cream?

I've just been reading this article :

Miracle nappy cream

So i thought since i now have a baby therefore own this so called 'miracle' Sudocrem, i would try this myself as i have quite a few spots on my face and it will be interesting to see if it does actually clear them up.
I don't watch TOWIE (must be one of the very few people my age who don't!) so i didn't know that this was the new beauty craze!

I shall update you as to whether it works! But for a mere £3.49 it's worthwhile just to buy it to give it a try if you do suffer from spots as you can also use it for cuts & grazes due to its antiseptic qualities.

Watch this space!

Song Of The Day

All Saints - Never Ever (bit of 90's nostalgia!)

I was watching a TOTP 2 Girl Band special program at the weekend on BBC2 and it brought back lots of memories from my 90s childhood!
And All Saints were one of the girl bands shown performing this song, it reminded me just how much i actually still love this song despite it being over 10 years old now!!

What are your girlband favourite songs?! Any B*witched fans lurking?! ha!

Highstreet Skull Love

1. Coloured Skull Ring Topshop £10  : 2. Black Skull Bead Bracelet River Island £3 : 3. Purple Shambala Beads River Island £5 : 4. Friendship Bracelet ASOS £6  5. Pieces Andy Skull Necklace ASOS £9  : 6. Coloured Skull Ring Topshop £10

Skull jewellery is BIG right now - which of course i am loving since i am a massive fan of skull prints. So these are my picks of the best skull jewellery available on the highstreet for under £10.
I especially love the pastel coloured skull rings from Topshop, i think these would definitely toughen up a girly summer dress! Plus who doesn't want to own a big skull knuckleduster?! Ha!

Are you a fan of this skull jewellery trend?

McQueen Love

Every so often i like to browse through designer collections on Net-A-Porter,  just so i can dream about what i would be able to purchase should i win the lottery - which by the way is highly unlikely considering i only ever buy a ticket once in a blue moon.
Today i decided to browse through the Alexander McQueen section (which is my favourite to "window shop"), and i am now regretting it since it is full of beautiful products!

These two being my pick of the bunch :

Leopard skull print cashmere scarf £425
Elaphe & Brass wrap bracelet £190

IF i were to win the lottery anytime soon, i would definitely be purchasing the above!

What designer goodies would you treat yourself to if you were to win big?

xoxo

Pick Of The Pencils

1. Black Stripe Pencil skirt £25 River Island  2. Tall Kaleidoscope Pencil Skirt £28 Topshop  3. White Stripe Pencil Skirt £25 River Island

Feeling Fruity

(This post i am aware is away from my usual fashion related posts but i thought i would branch out!)

I've recently discovered that Waitrose stores possibly have the best selection of fruit juices than any other supermarket. Mainly due to the fact that they seem to have a lot more variety in juices.
Cawston Press juices have definitely become my favourite.
The above flavours are the ones i've tried so far, and i have to say the Apple & Rhubarb juice is by far my favourite. Its delish - like summer in a glass. I did get strange looks when i told my mum i was drinking Apple & Beetroot juice yesterday though (it smells like jars of pickled beetroot but its actually quite nice). I also really like the delightful summer packaging - maybe thats a little bit sad to admit to..
These are currently on offer in Waitrose for 3 for £5!

Waitrose also stock pure beetroot juice which sounds quite strange but i may have to try it one day since i do like beetroot quite a lot..

Million Pound Handbag

The French company Hermes (famous for the celeb favourite the Birkin bag) have created a range of handbags costing in excess of ONE MILLION POUNDS! £1.2million to be exact.

They have created a line of four designs of miniature totes which are crafted from gold and studded with thousands of precious stones, they double up as high end jewellery.
The rich & famous are forever being spotted sporting a Hermes Birkin (costing in excess of £10k) on their arms but this is taking it to the complete next level of handbag luxury.

These handbags are significantly smaller than the plain leather Birkin's, and are designed to be worn on the wrist as a bracelet.

I don't think i would even pay £50 for the above 'high end' bracelet let alone £1.2million...
However if i did ever win the lottery i would splash out on the original Birkin bag...

Speaking of the iconic Birkin bag..
I always found it pretty amazing just how many people would come into the shop i work in with one of these handbags. I think the way to spot the rich is to judge them from their handbag!

Would you wear a Hermes handbag bracelet?
xoxo

Rucksacks are the new Handbag.

Rucksacks are coming back into fashion seemingly - good job i picked up my bargain buy from Primark! This is a very practical fashion trend i must say. Also clearly good for our backs unlike the massive totes & shoppers!

River Island has a good selection - technically these are in the mens section but i think they're pretty unisex

Blue chambray navajo rucksack £28

Stone stripe rucksack £30

Blue aztec rucksack £30

Topshops backpacks i'm not really loving so much....

Metallic vintage rucksack £38

Black nylon quilted backpack £25

Leather rucksack by Unique £180 (Yes £180 for a bag that looks like a brown paper bag....i despair)

I think i will stick to my £9 Primark bargain rather than splashing out on any of the above!

xoxo

Katy dares to bare

Katy Perry usually can do little wrong in my eyes, as i love both her style & music... however recent pictures of her in Paris this week have left me thinking "what the hell". This dress in the below picture would not look good on anyone, even the stunning Miss Perry unfortunately..

The singer shows off her knickers in a sheer dress in Paris.
I just don't even know what she must have been thinking when she thought stepping outside in this dress would be a good idea.  The only thing that i have to admire her for, is the pure bravery of wearing something this horrid & see through.

Fear not though the Teenage Dream singer was also seen wearing something not so see through as well this week on her trip to Paris : (it's not great.. but its better than the knicker flashing creation above).

rocking a gold number

I'm still loving the blue hair though.. i wonder if this will create a hair craze like Rihanna's red do did?! Although so far i have not seen anyone on the high street sporting blue raspberry slush puppy colour hair!

xoxo

Song Of The Day

M.I.A - Bad Girls
Recently came across this tune & it's really grown on me, it's definitely catchy!
Not particularly a M.I.A fan, apart from being a little fond of her tune Paper Planes. But this i do like.
